Damnit… Barry hits 755

5 08 2007

Well HELLLLLOOOOO HANK!

I guess we all knew it was going to happen… just kinda hoped aliens would abduct him or something.

Barry Bonds hit 755 today with a home run off Clay Hensley (welcome to infamy, Clay). With Malice… mourns the event.

I guess he didn’t want A-Rod to have all the headlines, and this certainly pushes them off the page. Totally.

Oh well, rest in peace Hank’s record… shared now. Soon to be broken I guess…

More on this another time… a lil’ choked up at the moment. 😉

Even I as an avid BoSox fan would have rather A-Rot get the title than Barry “Where are my Steroids” Bonds. I’m sure that’s practically anathematise-able, but it’s true nonetheless. I think I shall now don a black frock of some sort, to contribute to the mourning. Sad day, indeed.

Bide your time, cause A-Rod will most likely get that HR record. And in the mean time, you can hope (while biding) that the Bo Sox get to another Series 😉

Long live the ‘Big Curt’!

I’m not worried about the Bo Sox getting to another Series. Don’t you know that this is THE Year? 😉

It could be their year. I’m a D-Back fan and I rooted for em last time around, mostly cause of Curt. And I’m sure you can understand why 😉

hey Malice, hows this for irony…

“The baseball gods have already shown a sense of humour about Bonds’s record chase when they picked Clay Hensley as the pitcher to give up the 755th blast. Hensley, who failed a drug test as a minor-leaguer in 2005”

read that today in the Globe and Mail here in Ottawa…

And now that those two are off the juice, one can’t hit and the other can’t pitch…lolol

Just found out Bonds finally hit it. Maybe the gagfest will subside soon enough.

Is Barry Bonds the greatest? I answered in a song.

Mike Silva of NY Baseball Talk Baseball on 1240 AM WGBB interviewed me recently re: my music and soon to be released CD Baseball Songs Sports Heroes 2. which will shortly be on sale on CD Baby and other places. Parts of three songs were played on the radio show: Yankee Stadium, God IS a Mets Fan and The Greatest Home Run King

THE GREATEST HOME RUN KING

BARRY BONDS IS THE NEW HOME RUN KING TODAY

NO ONE IN THE MAJORS HAS PUT MORE AWAY

HANK AARON’S LIFETIME RECORD IS SURPASSED

BUT NO ONE CAN SURPASS HANK AARON’S CLASS

HANK HIT HOMERS THE OLD FASHION WAY

TO LEFT FIELD, RIGHT FIELD AND STRAIGHT AWAY

WHAT WOULD BARRY DO IF HE PLAYED IN HANK’S DAY?

WOULD HE HIT AS MANY HOMERS THAT’S HARD TO SAY?

WHO’S THE GREATEST HOME RUN KING?

CAN ONE TRULY MEASURE SUCH A THING?

DIFFERENT TIMES, ERAS, PARKS, RULES AND MORE

DIFFERENT TRAINING AND THE WAY TEAMS TOUR

CHORUS

ALL THINGS CONSIDERED WHO WOULD TRULY BE

THE GREATEST HOME RUN KING IN HISTORY?

BARRY, BABE, HANK, JOSH OR OH TAKE YOUR PICK

GIVEN HIS MIGHTY HOMERS SOME SAY THE MICK

BABE RUTH PITCHED YEARS MOWING DOWN THE SIDE

HE HAD FEWER CHANCES TO BELT THE OLD HORSEHIDE

BABE HIT MORE HOMERS THAN TEAMS IN HIS ERA

THE T-REX OF HIS TIME BABE WAS A HOME RUN TERROR

BARRY’S HIT MORE HOMERS THAN ANYONE YOU KNOW

EXCEPT JOSH GIBSON AND SADAHARU OH

JOSH WAS BARRED FROM THE MAJORS BECAUSE OF HIS SKIN

WITH EIGHT HUNDRED OR MORE HOMERS IS HE THE KINGPIN?

OH PLAYED BIG TIME BALL IN THE LAND OF THE RISING SUN

HE SMASHED MANY MORE HOMERS THAN ANYONE

OH THOUGH IS NOT IN THE HALL OF FAME

WITH EIGHT HUNDRED SIXTYEIGHT HOMERS THAT’S A SHAME!

REPEAT CHORUS

FADE

WHO’S THE GREATEST HOME RUN KING OF ALL?

TAKE YOUR PICK FANS, IT’S REALLY YOUR CALL!
