Boston looks a step closer to the puzzle now, with Sam Cassell waived by the Los Angeles Clippers. The Celtics will have to wait for Cassell to clear waivers on Monday, and theoretically could go to any team he wants… but in an interview with Stephen A. Smith, Cassell pretty much said that he was going to go to Boston. He did state that he explored a few other options, but that Boston’s his destination of choice.
Added with the addition of P.J. Brown to the veteran’s minimum of $1.2 million, and now (supposedly) Cassell, Boston really have placed themselves a slight cut above Detroit now.
Sam I Am veritably gushed over the promise of going to a now-deeper Boston Celtics squad. He mouthed platitudes over Cleveland and Detroit, but one could actually ‘hear’ Cassell’s smile.
It would be interesting to hear what Rajon Rondo has to say…
