It’s no secret that I am a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers.
On a different forum that I sometimes ‘attend’, a member stated that by the end of this week the Lakers would have lost 3 games, and be 7th in the standings.
So there we have it. So much for that theory, huh? Very good victories against Dallas and Utah – tho’ I’d have preferred it if they held on to those big margins.
I must admit that I was a bit worried when Pau Gasol went down with an ankle injury – this, on top of injuries earlier in the season to Andrew Bynum and Trevor Ariza… but something interesting has happened in all of this – besides the obvious leadership of Kobe Bryant.
Due to the injuries to key personnel, the Lakers have had to lean on Ronny Turiaf, and he’s been doing a very good job playing way out of position at the lynchpin spot. This has also allowed him to get some valuable time on court just prior to playoffs.
Again, not something the Lakers would wish to happen, but if they can get away with it, then it’s a positive.
Additionally, Lamar Odom’s always been an amazing talent, but it’s never been something that he’s done on a consistent basis in LA. But at the moment he’s one of the backbones of the team. Amazing.
Still fine being a Lakers fan… tho’ I am looking forward to having a full roster again.
