Jugular time

Forsooth… phenomenal game from Manu the other night, going manu-e-manu with the entire Lakers squad, and winning.

But you know, if it takes Manu going off for 30 for the Spurs to beat the Lakers? I like the chances of the Lakers…
Ginobli’s injured, and I see Kobe asserting his will on this game a lil’ more. And nowadays that doesn’t mean him shooting the ball 100 times, it means he wills the Lakers into the game. All of ’em.
The Lakers will bounce back, and I doubt Fish & Odom have as bad a game as last time.

Won’t be easy, as the Spurs still see themselves as a) champions & b) with their backs to the wall…

Lakers win a tight contest.
But sheesh… is that my heart or my head? Well… my gut instinct’s going with my heart at the moment.

Remember to head over to the TNT live feed (and psst… remember to vote for Ronny Turiaf – who still leads with 63%) – phenomenal viewing. And fer-shure both LA BallTalk & AOL Fanhouse‘ll have their Live Blog events up ‘n’ runnin’… you’ll most likely find me at one or the other – or both!

Update: BDL will also be liveblogging the game

LA BALL TALK

My vote is in for Ronny! That would be so much fun! He’s currently at 61% and Kobe is in 2nd at 26%…. I’d say Kobe finally lost something this season!

D,

Here’s a simple prediction for you.

San Antonio will win Game 4. 🙂

Very good…
A lot of folks on the interwebby disagree with you – but nice to see you put your butt on the line!

I think LA’s the better team, nor do I think Manu can repeat his game 3 performance… and I think that’ll be borne out in this game.
My prediction for this series was that LA would win in 5 (maybe 6)… and that will require them winning once on the road.
I think the time’s ripe.

Great quote from Kelly Dwyer on game 4…

“…I’ve no idea. Neither do you. Therein lays the intrigue. You’re a fan – a freak, maybe – tuning into an NBA blog on a the major’ist of websites in the late afternoon, you know all there is to know, and you’ve no idea…”

D,

The more interesting question to me is this …

Would you be willing to put your own $20 USD up against mine hinging on the outcome of tonight’s Game 4?

(i.e. you’ve got LA and I have SA)

Oh ye gods khandor… talk about mountain-out-of-a-molehill…
I really, really don’t give a rat’s ass over the prediction thingy – and if you think that was the main gist of our lil’ tete-a-tete then you’ve missed it entirely.

I just stated that I really have no idea on the outcome of the game… a la Dwyer’s comment.

But if you want to bet, it is a Spurs home-court game. You really should be offering points. +7 and you’re on.

edit: you should really check out what Scott Van Pelt has to say about smileys & “lol’s”…

In my experience with him … KD is but one of many, many pseudo NBA experts who couldn’t make a dime in real life based upon his ability to forecast Winners and Losers correctly in the NBA.

To do that takes a special talent and a highly trained eye for detail, pertaining to the NBA. 🙂

And yet… BDL is one of the biggest blogs out there, getting thousands upon thousands of hits – many times what thee & me get – and Dwyer’s paid…

Any irony there?

Fact #1. Spurs are -4.

Fact #2. Predicting simple Winners from Losers is one way to distinguish between those who know (somewhat?) of what they speak when it comes to making astute observations about the NBA from those who talk an interesting game but are without with the type of qualifications needed to speak with any authority about such matters.

Would you be interested in the $20 USD wager if I give you a line of LA +4? 🙂

D,

No irony there.

How long have you been operating your blog?

How long has KD been working in the blogosphere?

Done.

You still need to work on the way you talk with people… it could be better, and less condescending.

Point me in the right direction and I’ll gladly take a peak … to become better educated about the subject.

Condescension is strictly in the eye of the beholder.

Ah, oh … bad news for all Spurs faithful …

Joey Crawford is working tonight’s game, with Joe Forte and Mark Wunderlich.

A nightmare anti-Spurs crew if there ever was one, assigned by the NBA’s Head Office.

If the Spurs win tonight they are going to have to shoot a high percentage from the field.

Lakers win, 93-91.

And that with the Spurs having a much greater advantage at the charity stripe (19-26).

Pretty safe to say I’m goddamn friggin’ happy at the mo’.

Good stuff Khandor, thanks!
