Bizarre Japanese Sports… #5

Ok… without a doubt this is the weirdest clip I have ever, ever seen from Japan. Even my wife (who as a nihonjin, understands the local humor, even if she doesn’t always find it funny) was surprised by this one.

Warning tho’… it is very, very, very off-the-wall.

So… here’s a ‘badminton training session’ that goes … umm… wrong (not sure how much more *wrong* anything could get).

Ok… they claim that this is a ‘sport’… but I’m dubious. Still, quite a bizarre video & they waved the *sports* flag over it a few times so here it is.

Bizarre Japanese Sports… #1

There certainly is some weirdness in the world, and sometimes… only sometimes… I encounter stuff it in my corner of the world (Japan). When I first made this blog I said I’d include some ‘cultural’ stuff… well if I find something sports-oriented (at least… remotely) …

#1: Crying Baby competition…

Held in Tokyo in late April, a competition for the baby who can cry the loudest. Held ‘sumo-style’ in conjunction with local amateur sumo, who provided ‘support’ for the competitors.

I promised you something weird, well… it doesn’t get much weirder. I’ve lived in Japan for nearly 10 years now, and this is one of the weirdest things I’ve seen… and I didn’t find it, it had to get passed my way from someone outside of Japan!
